Employee to Employer ๐Ÿ˜€ - It's my story.

In this beautiful journey, I made more than 300 clients now, with  Assets Under Management of 25crores (21Cr in MF + 4 Cr in PMS) and a SIP Book of 23lakhs, of course, term, health, and FD are also there in the product basket. From on-boarding, new KYC(video) to transactions 95% of my clients are online and through my website itself. I got clients in abroad, and in other cities across India, most of them were referrals, and almost 50% of clients I never met. Now monthly I'm able to get a minimum of 5 new clients and a new SIP Book of 50k min. Every experience is new learning, and our learning must never stop, either in reading or upgrading ourselves in using the technology. Till now all alone, Now planning to add a team slowly to take it to next level. Last year our firm is been changed to Gro Prime Wealth Pvt Ltd.

Being an Engineer and MBA Graduate never thought destiny was MFD, Life is full of surprises, Post my Engineering in 2010, unexpectedly joined ICICI Bank as a P.O. and then got an opportunity to pursue my MBA in Banking & Finance (MANIPAL UNIVERSITY) from the same working organization itself, took it seriously and done both, parallel Job as well as MBA(no personal space for 2yrs). But the education (Btech and MBA was a dream though) it's worth it.

Working in a bank like ICICI it's always a great scope of learning in all aspects, it's in Feb 2012 my journey started there in Branch Banking, it's completely Customer service, daily walk-in's of 500-800, they had a turnaround time for every transaction (high tech-driven bank). A lot of queries, lot of learning. Covered all the branch level stuff from Current Account servicing, NRI Services, a few trade services, and audit, of course, the sale is a daily routine. In a year i.e. 2013 became Privilege Banker mostly into sales but it's inbound (sitting in the branch itself). Then in 2015 waiting for an opportunity to enter into wealth management, but it didn't work out so took a step to the next organization.

In 2015 joined Aditya Birla Capital as a Wealth RM, spent around 10months there, learned in detail about MF, PMS, Stock trading, and stuff. Then moved to Yes Bank in 2016 as Financial Advisor for NRI's. The routine was the same revenue lead through sales. I got the point and understood that the clients remain the same in all the three organizations and as well as I'm also. Sometimes I regret giving a wrong product to clients forcefully because of organization calls, So thought to take a step of starting things on my own, didn't had much inputs on how to start from scratch but decided to take a bold move at my age of 29 (of course with all the love and support from life partner), and did it.

It's Nov 2017, got things ready ARN, Firm name, and business started slowly, I adapted technology immediately(work experience helped in this stuff), own website ready (www.gpwealth.in), used AMCs sites for online transactions, in the same month itself registered with BSEStarMF but got the access in few months. Slowly then, I never routed any of my clients to use the AMC site just gave them one point contact that's my website. I did a lot of modifications to my site added calculators, MF Research tools, Funds NAVs, login, and registration for new clients enabled in my website itself.

A lot of learning, lot of hurdles in 3.5years of the journey. Markets corrected badly in Feb 2018, just two months of my beginning, and in April 2018, SEBI introduced categorization, and in Oct 2018, complete trial model, the first one year was a lot of hurdles, understood that this is how it is. Ignoring all the hurdles just following on a single moto of increasing AUM and that too in a retail model, I maintained the same quality and transparency to all my clients.

As I initially said that it's an unexpected journey and now I would love to share that it's the most beautiful and peaceful phase I had as MFD. The moment we explain and guide on personal finance everyone wants to take it. But it's up to us how we make them understand in simple terms.

Success is a journey, not a destination. Be hungry always.

And my heartful thanks to all clients and fellow MFDs and loved ones.
